Meet the Instructor
Heather Edwards is a Myrtle Beach native and a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher specializing in Adaptive and Yin Yoga. Her classes are intentionally designed to be welcoming, accessible, and empowering for students of all abilities. With a focus on clear, descriptive cueing and thoughtful adaptations, Heather creates an environment where each student can move safely, confidently, and at their own pace, whether practicing in a chair, on a mat, or standing.
Heather’s adaptive classes prioritize inclusion and personalization. She meets students where they are, offering options that support a wide range of physical and sensory needs. Through guided breathing techniques, gentle movement, and creative elements like playful themes or animal-inspired poses, her classes are engaging and approachable for both children and adults. Her teaching style encourages exploration, independence, and joy, helping students build both physical awareness and self-confidence.
Living with low vision herself, Heather brings a deeply personal understanding of accessibility to her work. Diagnosed at age 8 with cone dystrophy, she has navigated life as a legally blind individual and is passionate about helping others discover ways to adapt, participate, and thrive. Yoga became a meaningful outlet for her in her 20s, a space where she could feel grounded, safe, and fully connected to her body, and she now shares that experience with her students.
Beyond teaching, Heather enjoys volunteering with nonprofits, traveling, practicing Pilates, and staying active in her community. She brings the same authenticity, warmth, and enthusiasm from her personal life into every class she leads, creating spaces where all students feel seen, supported, and inspired.
