The Grand Strand Miracle Leagues (GSML) is dedicated to providing people of all ages with Special Needs the opportunity to play baseball. The GSML played its first season of baseball in the Spring of 2002, making it the second Miracle League to be established in the United States.
Since then, our baseball program has grown by leaps and bounds, but always remains true to our rules:
Everyone Crosses Home Plate.
Games are played on the James C. Benton Miracle League field, an ADA approved, all-access baseball field with a rubberized surface that is ideal for wheelchairs and walkers.
Each player is paired with a volunteer “Buddy” to assist them in play or just to cheer them on!
At this time, the Miracle League has six non-competitive teams and two teams that train to compete in Special Olympics. The goal is fun for everyone at every level of play!
There is no age limit for our baseball program: we currently field players ranging in age from
3 – 53!
It is free to join, so come on out to the ball game!!
It is the generous support of our community that allows us to offer programs free of charge. Please help us to continue to offer our programs at no cost to our players.
